Speed workout for a 20 minute 5K Race

As you may be aware (and I will blog in more detail about it soon) I am currently marathon training  but once it has finished – 19 April I will be working on my 5K time as a priority!

You need to take a 90 second recovery jog after each repeat.

Week 1: 8 x 400m at 90s each

Week 2: 8 x 400m at 89s each

Week 3: 8 x 400m at 88s each

Week 4: 9 x 400m at 88s each

Week 5: 9 x 400m at 87s each

Week 6: 9 x 400m at 86s each

Week 7: 8 x 100m strides

Week 8: Goal 5K Race
